My magnetic compass is installed in the panel. It is all but worthless
except in a complete power out situation. Maybe others have better luck,
but my placement is close to the breakers and a VisionMicro system and it
changes about 30 degrees when the master is turned on, and then fluctuates
even more when the gear relay or fuel pumps turn on.

I am trying to decide the type compass to install in my L-360. A compass
mounted IN the panel or a compass mounted on TOP of the panel. Magnetic
interference will be an issue either way, but I'd really like to mount the
compass IN the panel.
