Curtis, I used Zolotone on my wheel wells and used the Zolotone primer.
Sticks pretty good to the primer, don't know how well it would have stuck
without it. Some of the areas in the wells are pretty hard to get to to sand
so the primer could turn out to be cheap insurance. The pattern in Zolatone
is from little "packets" of color that burst when they hit the surface and
splatter to form the mottled look. In order to splatter they are supposed to
be sprayed on normal to the surface (90 degrees).  The problem I ran into
was in the nose wheel well where it's impossible to get the spray gun
anywhere near 90 degrees up deep in the well. The paint ended up puddling in
the corners. I painted/scraped out/sanded/repainted the nose wheel well
three times before I could get it to look good. If I had to do it again I'd
try to find a miniature paint gun to do the far reaches of the wells.

Painting the wheel well is a lotta work but worth it in the end.
