Dear Hal,
Your solution is the AV-1 altitude switch that is on every 747 and is made
by a company called Pressure Controls Inc. I had mine set for 11000' and
it cost $125 which I did not think was unreasonable. PCI are at (973)
751-5002
and my contact Paul was very helpful mailto:pcipaul@worldnet.att.net
Their web site is at
http://www1.thomasregister.com/olc/pressurecontrol/home.htm
FYI, they make a range of fluid/air pressure and vacuum switches, and
I purchased the V-10 adjustable vacuum switch to detect a vacuum
pump failure (also $125), and a LCD-2 pressure switch set for 40psi
to detect an oil pressure failure ($45.00) and a P-60 adjustable
pressure switch to detect low fuel pressure ($125).
Good Luck.
