Dan Olsen,
I have the IO-320-D1B with long engine mount and front
mounted McCauley prop governor.
The prop governor I received from Lancair (part number D-20309-34)
had the governor control lever installed in a position that made it
impossible to connect correctly with the cockpit control lever.
I talked to McCauley and was informed that I should have a
governor with part number D-20893-17. This part number actually
repositions the governor control lever for use in the front mounted
location.
My governor is now being modified at a local McCauley service senter.
(Lancair is paying for the mod.).
I am routing the prop control cable (A-790) on the pilot side under the
header
tank, through the firewall, thereafter through the lefthand baffling over
the cylinders to the governor control lever. I need a couple of brackets
to secure it over the cylinders.
The Throttle cable (A-800) is routed on the pilot side through the
firewall low down in front of the right pedal, whilst the Mixture cable
(A-790) runs on the passenger side through the firewall close to the floor.
Hope this is of some help.
