Dan, re front governer cable length.

As I recall, you can buy cables in 1 foot increments.  Determine the minimum
length you need and then buy the next longer foot length. That way you can
bend a twist around obstacles and have a little slack to pretty up the
route.

I have the 36F1A6 with the left front prop governer as well.  The route is
high just under the header tank and into the back of the baffle parallel to
the ignition wires.  Short mounts.  I suggest you buy the cessna bracket to
mount on the prop governer to hold the cable.  You will have just enough
room to install this mechanism and still have cowling clearance. I used the
cable without the threaded end rod and machined a keeper to connect the prop
governer arm to the cable.  Works fine.
