Woor,
Q--This is great news. I do hope from now until my delivery date is sufficient time for Cirrus to do what ever they want. I just thing that engine will be great. What do you think?
A--If everything goes as planed, yes.
Q--My number #1 choice would have been the Diesel, but it is slow going.
A--The GAP diesel is 3 years from production at 200 bhp. 300 bhp is much longer.
Q--Are you building or buying a Lancair?
A--I plan to build the fastest Legacy in the sky with a TSIOF-550-A!
Q--Either way, I think you are going to love it. What do you like the 2 or 4 seats? I think they are both great, but the 2 seater is much cheaper to operate and still go over 200 miles an hour.
A--200 mph will be at 50% power! I'd love to build a IV-P but my budget limits me to a Legacy.
Q--I heard the fuel consumption will be reduced by 20% with the FADEC system, do you believe that?
A--You will see a fuel savings. How big will depend on how good your leaning practice was before. Apples to apples the FADEC gets a little better BSFC. The big difference you will see in the real world is FADEC normally runs at Best Power not Full Rich. Leaning to Best Economy will start as soon as the RPM and MAP are stable for 2 minutes.
Q--I think (I am just guessing) this FADEC system should allow the engine to run better and make it to TBO. At least it will have a better chance at it...
A--FADEC is the "Perfect Pilot". The engine will run the way the FACTORY wants it too. Good or Bad, you decide.
ERic--
