The controller's Bible: FAAO 7110.65 has an entry for the overhead maneuver in
the Pilot/Controller Glossary; maybe the AIM does too. I just found out it's
on-line too -- technology is great ain't it?

I don't know how likely they would approve it, but the requirements are spec'd
out there. Basically. it's not an IFR approach (like circling) and should be
performed 500+ feet over the pattern after a 3-5mi straight in. Roll out on
final should be 1/4 mi or more from the threshold and not less than 300 feet.
