HI THERE

i started out as a curious looker watching the market for Lancair 4/4P

here is what i found out.. A LOT

make sure that your friend is buying from the right person.

have him get title insurance
see this astonishing story about N484E

have him check the cost of insurance before buying

HERE IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN QUOTED
(i have 3800 hours, 170 in type, instrument ticket, 159 hours in 12 months,
2500 hours twin cessna time)

there is really only one market for Lancair 4P

the rates are impressive

$200k hull
$1m with 100/seat                 price $13,400
$10,000 deductible

just liability                                            $3,200

BUT, WEIRDLY
liability for a Lancair 4                      $586
$1m with 100/seat
(because not pressurized)

i have chosen to go naked on hull on both planes as the costs are so
extraordinary

THEN THERE IS TRAINING

Vital if your friend is going to survive the Lancair experience

the kit is an early build; no fast build here LIV076

AVIONICS SUPPORT

Chelton 2-Tube EFIS Garmin
no good support and expensive
   (search on LML for more info)
Chelton has basically washed their hands of the homebuilt market

Garmin MX-20 MFD
a great set
BUT no longer supported by GARMIN
