Today I replaced the rubber Lycoming intake hose on the #2 cylinder with the silicone rubber hose I purchased on eBay. The stock 1-1/2" I.D. hose was 2" long with a wall thickness of 0.22". The silicone rubber replacement was 3" long with a wall thickness of 0.16". I should have cut the extra 1" off, but I didn't. Anyway, I gained an additional 1/16" clearance from the exhaust stack(s) so at least I can see daylight underneath the blue hose now.
