Steve and I have been using matco 1 brakes since that is what came in the kit back in the 1980's. Some builders have described matco 1 brakes in the past as being junk among other things.

We have not had any major issue thus far with using them but would like to at least upgrade to matco 5 brakes or better if possible. We have heard that grove wheels/brakes will not fit into the gear well of a 235. We have contacted a couple of  other builders about this concern. They both installed a later version of matco's. There must be some other 235 owner/builders out there that could shed some light on this. Is there anyone out there that has switched to another type of brake system that might have some old matco 5's sitting on their shelf? If so, please contact Steve or myself directly.
