With no more than 500 in/lbs torque, I stripped threads from the nut in my outer attach point.  I repaired with a heli-coil.  I see no need for torque in excess of 300 in/lb.  More is simply crushing the shim tube in the prepreg.  There is no need for crushing force, the wing isn’t going anywhere!

 

Re safety wire, the only way I found is put the wire in before installing it in the wheelwell, then putting the safety pliars on.  Is this safety really needed?
