The lancair manual says to use a restricted 90 degree fitting on the high side of the nose landing gear retract cylinder.
I realize this will “slow” the flow of fluid and speed of retract, but why would you want to do this?
Has anyone not done this and flying / retracting just fine ? I would think that faster NLG retract would be better at times…..
I know for the main landing gear, Lancair said to install restricted fittings to try to eliminate the inboard gear door rub (which it doesn’t, it helps a little but not much), is that the same reason for the Nose ?
Any thoughts ?
