I realize this will "slow" the flow of fluid and speed of retract, but why would you want to do this? Has anyone not done this and flying / retracting just fine ? I would think that faster NLG retract would be better at times... I know for the main landing gear, Lancair said to install restricted fittings to try to eliminate the inboard gear door rub (which it doesn't, it helps a little but not much), is that the same reason for the Nose ?
