While Oshkosh is run extremely well, you asked for suggestions, and I have a few.
1) Don't empty the porta-potties in the camping area at 530 am. Empty the ones on the flight line then. Empty the ones in the camping area when people are awake.
2) There is no camping store near Classic/Antique parking. It's a LONG walk to the Warbird camp store or the Scholler camp store.
3) Drinks are too expensive. The $1 soda machine by airplane camping is turned off during the day! The cheapest non-water drink is $2.50, unless you walk to the camp store and buy a soda for $1.
4) Food vendors should be open on Monday before the show.
5) There were WAY too many cars driving in the exhibition area this year. Many more than last year. The little Volkswagens were cool -- it seemed like the "executives" were mingling with the crowd, not looking down their noses at us from their air-conditioned Ford behemoths. Golf carts would be better than regular cars. Cars and pedestrians don't belong in the same place.
6) I second the "no-fly zone" for helicopters over the forum tents.
7) Need more trams.
8) Need less diesel exhaust.
9) There were fewer pay phones than last year. This was a minor inconvenience.
All in all, Oshkosh is run extremely well. Now about that formerly excellent magazine of theirs, it has gone steadily downhill in recent years. Let me know if you want comments on that!
