1.)How much trouble is it to install the gear warning system ($650 or so)
that Lancair sells when you have already installed the gear switches etc.?
(Our 360 was built by someone else).   A similar system possible saved me a
prop, belly skin and embarrassment several years ago in a Cessna 182retract
so I believe in them.  You don't need them when things are going smoothly
-its when the unexpected happens that your mind messes up... in my case the
tower told me to go around, I raised the gear, then a minute later they
changed their minds.....without the alert I might not have remembered to
put them down again since I was now out of sequence and had my hands full
getting lined up again....when I lowered the flaps the alarm horn sounded
and I remembered.  The voice is even better since sometimes you don't know
which horn is which (in a 182 landing the stall horn beeps just before
touchdown). Its also nice to be told to pick up the gear - last year I was riding
right seat in a King Air when the pilot forgot to raise the gear - wondered
why we were going so slow!  It has happened moe than once to me in the 360
when things are happening fast.

2.) How much trouble and time is it to take wings off an LNC2?  I need to
have some touch up paint done on a wing tip and that would be so much
easier if I could cart it to the paint shop.  We have even contemplated
taking the body to the upholstery shop in a trailer - but the wing removal
has us worried...
