I’ve checked all my hoses closely and all are good so it makes no sense to change them at this point.  When that time comes I will certainly be changing them to the SS sheath type.  I have the mandrels and have made them myself in the past but if the cost isn’t outrageous I’ll probably have them made to save time and hassle.  I am, however, adding the gauges in the system under the right seat but this is strictly for ground-based trouble shooting.  I won’t be able to see them in flight but up there it really doesn’t matter what the pressure is doing.  Either the gear goes up & down or it doesn’t.  You can’t fix it in flight.  Thanks for your input Jack.

Danny, I'm not the expert like some out there, but I will say to you that since I overhauled every hyd actuator with Lancair supplied "kits" all leaks and weeps have stopped.   Additionally, the origional hoses were all deteriorating and one actually weeped right out of the middle of one hose in the nose wheel well (it looked like it came out of a joint, but no.).   Replaced all 14 with teflon/ss outer hosed from Flowline (custom made and very economical).   For good measure added up and down gages as I posted recently.

As Chris Z said, gages in the cockpit explain a lot in real time.   They take a lot of wondering out of the equation.
