I am not sure if you are talking about the micro switches for the gear position (Lancair part number 1XE1-T ), but soldering with protective heat shrink works well.  No damage to switch as far as I can tell even with my mediocre soldering technique.

I am at the point of wiring up the nose gear limit switch on my IV and was looking at options for those tiny posts.  Definitely too small for a crimp on.  A female molex is too big.   The female D-sub pins I have seem too small.     Did a search in the archives and did not find anything.   So what did folks do to connect to that itty bitty limit switch.  Did you simply solder it?  If so, did the heat damage the limit switch?
