Forgot to mention: A natural follow-on to building your own hose is an article that appeared in the old LNN (Lancair Network News). It showed how to build a hose tester using basic plumbing parts from the hardware store. It allowed for flow testing with a garden hose and pressure testing using a grease gun. My copy is buried in storage somewhere. Perhaps someone else has a copy handy. It is comforting to know the home-made hose can withstand rated pressure.
