My mate who flew Mosquitos in THE BIG SHOW and with whom I
shared a B727 cockpit in the GOLDEN YEARS is 91 and still flying his RV6.
I will be 68 this year and to quote Grayhawk – “they’ll
have to pry my Lancair pistol grip out of my cold dead hands” unquote. (
actually Grayhawk was referring to his starter). Mind you, she who must be obeyed
got pretty close,.
Cheers

Subject: [LML] 68 is old?
GOM
… I’m already 68 and am cutting forward not back.
Steve
Wittman was 91 and still making it work when the plane he was flying had a
structural failure.
Chuck
Yeager still cutting it in his 80’s
Bob
Hoover made it work into his 80’s
OK
… so these are exceptional people. SO ARE WE.
Don’t
give in. 68 old? Not me, at least yet.
