Art, I had two in the wing tip but too close to the fuel vent and just moved them closer to the leading edge. After talking with Matt at MGL, he strongly recommended to add a ground plane which I did using a paint on metal. The gps is working better on the ground but has not been tested in the air. He also suggested keeping the antennas at least 6" apart.

You say you relocated your antenna, where was it origionally and where did you move it to?  I have the Garmin antenna located in one wing tip and the Chelton antenna located in the other wing tip, no ground plane on either and never had a problem with either.

Where are your gps antennas located. I had a problem with my mgl until I relocated the antenna and added a ground plane.
