We had trouble getting a Bob Archer antennae to work very well when we
upgraded from a KX 55 GPS to a Garmin 430. We had no problem with glideslope
reception with the King radio, but could only receive the GS within 5 NM
after we installed the Garmin. We ended up installing an external antennae
in the tail, one that is used on a Bonanza. We can now pick up the GS about
20 NM out. Our Bob Archer Antennae was installed in our winglet. It may be different
(better) if you are using wingtips. Carl Loomis

I've done a lot of searching of the archives.  It appears to me that you can
make the Bob Archer wingtip antennas work in a IV IFF you follow the
directions.

I would just like to hear from anyone that has made the Bob Archer antennas
work in a IV wingtip.

If so, did it also work for GS?

thanks,

Colyn
