Re Rob Wolf's last post. I have my boost pump
below the left hand seat and I have a 110 micron filter on the suction side of
the pump which is an Air flow Performance pump and filter unit. Before
closing the wings I vacuumed, blew out and wiped the tanks with a tack
cloth. I had a little sediment/fiberglass dust in the filter after ten
hours and since then virtually nothing to speak about. I also have an
Andair gascolator and on my annual inspections I open it up but I never find
anything there. If you have a fuel injection system there is also a filter
built into the unit on the fuel high pressure side.
You will be running the engine on the ground before
you make your first flight. Immediatly prior to that it is a good idea to
check the filters. Start with your primary filter and work into the
system.
