Gary,

Righto...

I reinforced the forward part of the canopy, especially between the hinges, in order to stiffen it.  I also use teflon tape on top of parts of seal at the header joggle where the canopy has to slide across it in order to close.  This stops the seal from getting rubbed into oblivion.

I used the overhang on both the inside and outside of the longeron for maximum sealing and reduction of canopy distortion.  Notice I indication reduction of canopy distortion.

With the canopy struts attached, there is distortion of the front sides of the canopy inward when it is opened.  No distortion when the struts are removed.  With the struts attached, the canopy is flexed inward about 1/8" and the outer overhang wants to hit the top of the longeron upon closing.

I am in the process of revising and finally finishing my 320/360 forward hinged canopy.  I am interested in what type seal works best, lasts the longest, etc.  Do you have a glass lip on the canopy that extends down over both sides of the longerons, or just the inside or just the outside?
