Rob, can't see how you could get slotted flaps when they are attached with
hinges to the bottom skin. My understanding of "slotted flaps" is that they
move aft as they deploy, creating the slot. Note that on aircraft that do
have slotted flaps, the hinge pivot points are located below the bottom wing
surface somewhere (usually via hinge extensions that stick down below the
wing). Also, they usually have an airfoil shape (the leading edge is
rounded, as in airfoil) in order to become lifting surfaces when down and
aft.
