for builders who have not installed the step yet. Move
the step back approximately 10" and bolt it to the gear
box about 5deg. back from vertical. I use an electric
actuator to move the step up and down. So far it works
great.

Early on, I said "screw it" and locked the step in the permanent down position. I had heard too many adverse stories, and had too much concern about the cable fraying and getting emmeshed into the gear pinon, interfering with gear down.
