It will fit onto the engine mount and yes, definitely the long one.  I do not believe the short one would work.  There is so little room to work with the short one.
 
The cowl will need to be  modified as the engine is wider.  I gave up on modifying mine as the quality of the original is not good to start with and it was a real mess after I had hacked it around.  Length is longer but if you are modifying it for width it is easy to do the length.  I had a professional do me a new mold and produce a cowling, top and bottom. I was so fed up with my own efforts.  I still have the molds.
 
I have a forward facing fuel injection unit and I chose not to use the combustion air inlet under cowl.  My bottom cowl is therefore smooth.  The air inlet/filter is in the left hand cooling air entry, like a Piper.
 
The hardest job I did when building the plane was getting that adjectival cowling to fit.
