After being dropped by AVEMCO some years ago when they stopped insuring
experimental aircraft, the EAA stepped up and partnered with the Falcon
Agency, where I have been insured ever since for a relatively constant
price. This year I requested a re-quote after reducing the insurance value
of my 13 year old 320 hull down to $75,000 all risk. My 68 year old
personal hull has 2300 hours along with Pvt SEL, Comm MEL and Instrument
ratings with 950 hours in type and 2100 hours in complex aircraft.
While waiting for Falcon, I responded to an AVEMCO "hat" promotion and
their quote was for a very inexpensive $692 with a few restrictions. Uh,
1,000,000 property only, 100,000 for anybody not in the aircraft and no hull
coverage.
Falcon came in with $2013 for 1,000,000 liability limited to 100,000 per
passenger; 75,000 all risk hull; no deductible; $10,000 med payments and a
variety of EAA plusses.
I will be sticking with Falcon and re-up with the EAA.
