Gary Strong - I have the 360 fast build from 1996. It's nearly done and should
come in at about 3,000 hours. It's a full panel and includes a lot of options. The interior, panel build and final paint will have been outsourced. Lot's of
time went into wiring and finishing. This is not grand champion workmanship but
it will look great (until you look inside the gear wells or under the seat
pans). I've been fairly efficient so I don't know how one can be built for less
than 2000 hours but you can certainly spend a whole lot more. The Legacy
probably saves additional time in airframe construction and the builder
assistance program you mentioned, but these are only part of the total time
required. No matter how you slice it, you have a large project on your hands
but it does go together reasonably quickly and you'll work at the pace that's
comfortable for you.
