Oil Drain Sumps for the Continental engine
John,
I have one on my TSIO550 and it works like a champ.

SAF-AIR makes a low profile 2-piece oil drain sump that can be purchased from Aircraft Spruce for about $85. The valve itself replaces the oil plug in the bottom of the oil pan and is safety wired. A screw-on opener screws onto the valve and opens the drain valve. Its handy because you can attach a clear tube to the opener, and screw the opener into the valve. Oil runs down through the tube and into the collection container rather than on to your nose gear linkage, your nose gear tire, or your shoe.
