<< Lancair Builders' Mail List >>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I recently asked where I might buy TK5's and for how much. In the newsletter I got a reply from Marv that they can be had from Leading Edge for $1195 a pair. By separate e-mail sent directly from Vern at Lancair I find that Lancair also stocks them and sells them at the same price. It seems to me that we ought to look to Lancair first - we all have a significant investment, both emotional and financial - in Lancair.
Why would we go elsewhere for something that we can buy for the same price from Lancair? What does that say about us?

[Leading Edge is Tim Ong's company, selling Tim Ong's product, so it's
not like you were being pointed to some random outside source. My
personal attitude is that perhaps by buying directly from Tim (and
allowing him some small extra measure of profitability as a result) it's
possible that he'll be able to expand his business and come up with some
other product that might offer another significant improvement in
performance or handling. I agree that when it comes to buying other
materials that are available from multiple sources, if the price is
competitive I'll always give my order to Lancair rather than someplace
else. I just don't think that the two situations are identical and,
as such, governed by the same set of purchasing preferences. But that's
just my personal opinion... FWIW. <Marv> ]
