I don't know about the 235/320 installation but I
was very happy to have a shield on my IVP.
I had a problem with leakage in the slip joints on
my transfer tube. The resulting heat burned through the fire shield on the
cold air line to the gascolator shroud. Although a 235 wouldn't have
exhaust in such close proximity it does seem like protecting the fuel lines in
the engine compartment is a good idea.... may give you a
few extra seconds if you have fire/hot air in the wrong
place.
