Gerard,
I had a mixture cable break in flight once. It was in the middle of a leg
of the Airventure Cup Race actually. The fuel mixture floated to full rich
and stayed there.
After that, I rigged a spring on the mixture arm at the fuel control to
insure it would go that way next time. I used a small coil tension spring
and wrapped it around the shaft housing with one end on the arm and the
other anchored to a convenient spot. Very simple.

Subject: [LML] mixture cable-? heavy duty
Some time ago I had a mixture cable snap when I was shutting down the
engine-this could have been made for a more sticky situation should it have
happened in flight.
I believe this is not uncommon with Lycomings.
I was wondering has anyone sourced a more heavy duty mixture cable for
the 0-320 then the "standard" rather flimsy one I was supplied through
Lancair?
Regards
Gerard
