"Has anyone any updated info on the FL state taxes on aircraft 6 months or
newer.I have a friend wants to fly a new Comp Air he recently purchased to
S-N-Fun. He called there office and was got the runaround and finally to a
answer machine and his call was never returned."
According to Aero-News and statements from the Florida Department Of Revenue, Florida Aviation Trades Association, National Air Transportation Association, and AOPA, aircraft 6 months or newer can be subject to Florida's use tax. Apparently Sun-N-Fun president John Burton is disputing these reports. Seems like he's the only one who is. If it was my plane I wouldn't take it anywhere near Florida until it was well past the 6 month mark.
