Jerry, your idea about threading the Hydraulic Stop is excellent.  I got the factory kit for my IV, and I didn't install it yet because the thought of the external sleeve stop  moving freely and rotating against the stop lock nut bothered me.  In my case, I know the factory is not going to substitute a machined part for a twenty cent piece of cut tubing, so  I am going to make my own--maybe I will TIG weld a nut onto the end of the tubing to provide the threaded end against which the lock nut will touch.  I think I will slide the nut and the tubing over a piece of threaded rod to give alignment when I weld it.
