Don Goetz does it again...
From Aero-News Network (www.aero-news.net):
"Over the weekend, the factory Lancair 360 MK II factory demonstrator had a
control problem, which according to Lancair factory test pilot Don Goetz
"incapacitated" the throttle and left N362L with little or no power on approach to
runway 22 in Redmond, Oregon.
The flight was being conducted by a Lancair factory instructor to acclimate a
new Lancair builder to the capabilities of his aircraft, and the near-dead stick
adventure resulted in the aircraft landing just short of the runway... gear up.
According to Goetz, "there's very little damage, a bit of scraped paint on the
belly, and no evidence of anything all that bad." Goetz indicated that he felt the
airplane could be returned to service very shortly, and seemed pleased that the
incident resulted in so little harm to the 8 year old demonstrator... and in no
harm whatsoever to either pilot."
