I also received my kit in 1998. After finishing the oil door and air cleaner
fabrication
I tried fitting the cowling to my engine a TSIO-550E. The cowling does not
fit.
The left turbo oil can sticks through the bottom and the intercoolers are to
wide for the top cowling.
After a lot of phone calls to Lancair. Someone finally admitted that there
are two sizes of Lancair IV
Cowlings and I had the small cowls. The larger cowls have the larger exhaust
cowl and are wider for the intercoolers.

Check it out first and save a lot of work.

"In my 1998 Kit, I received the basic carbon cowl and also the improved
cooling adopter for the cowling. There was no material on the installation
procedures. Has anyone done the modification to their cowl and could you
share your suggestions and procedures with me???
