Michael
I installed a 1/4 inch drain in each pocket. I did not try to tie them together as I felt that, depending on the attitude of the airplane, only one of the drains would work. I have two drains exiting the belly of the fuselage. I also dammed up the outside edges of the depressions as high as possible without the hinges hitting and built a small ledge between the pockets to try and direct as much water as possible into the pockets. I am not flying yet but I am quite confident that this approach will be better then doing nothing. As I see it when you deflate the seal in the rain on the ramp, water will pour on your shoulder.
