Reading the inputs on canopy latches for Legacy brings me to ask about latches for the early 235's/320's etc.  Those four suitcase flip latches are certainly simple in design but a real pain to  use.  In an emergency, particularly if injured, they could be a major challenge to reach.  Any modifications from the field?  Pat Halloran

Pat,

You didn't indicate how your canopy was mounted; original parallelogram or tilt-up opening style.  I adapted the later tilt-up canopy and associated lock down mechanism to my early airframe.  If you have the original parallelogram style canopy, then Dan's lock arrangement is a good way to go in lieu of the four hasps.
