Matt,
before you get too far into your modification it may be worth your time to
contact Lancair as they have made lots of test cowls for turbo 320 and 360
engines. they can best guide you on what has worked as they tested quite a
few iterations, and they may sell you one that has the pressure
distributions worked out.
outside of that, a rule that often gets you started in the right direction
on cowls is:
parallel to flow= low pressure
angled or strait on=high pressure
