Only if your don't need it for de-ice.
Another thing to think about on your power grid is
exactly what
is going to be happening at the time of electrical
failure. I started with
a manual fail-over system and ended up with diode
fed critical
systems (a/p, engine monitor, minimun lights) for
smooth fail-over.
It doesn't take long to manually change your power
source but it
can take a while to get everything
rebooted.
I'm not sure you can make that work with the de-ice
alternator.
