I did use some anti-seize compound on the cht probes. It
was actually copper metallic in color and texture. I got it from my A&P mechanic who
helped me with my engine install. I
used the same material on the nuts for the exhaust and turbos. I think over time this hardware would
become quite difficult to remove if you don’t use something.
I don’t have the actual MIL SPEC but
I could get it tomorrow if you like.

Subject: [LML] Temp Probe
Installation Question
I’m looking for any
advice/instruction on installation of CHT and EGT temp probes for a TSIO-550.
1. Should I use anything (i.e. anti-seize compound), when installing
the CHT probes, or just screw them in?
2.
My EGT
probes and hose clamps fit the exhaust pipes well, but are not a “close
tolerance” fit relative to “sealing” the hole in the exhaust
pipe. Should I use a thin washer on the probe to help seal the exhaust
hole? Any suggestions
on the material (stainless)?
