Rick,
I did a search of the FAA registration database "model" for the text
"IVPT" or "LANCAIR IVPT". Their search method is such that if one used
"IV", all the fours are counted including IV, IVP, and IVPT. I only found
1 IVT (Mark's). Also, if the search was for "LANCAIR ES" I would
also see things like "Moses LANCAIR 360" along with "LANCAIR
ES".
Note that your list includes Harry League's IVPT and he doesn't even have
an engine yet so the searches you used may include many
non-airworthy-certificated aircraft but registered N-numbers.
However, I don't know how you came up with fewer total Lancairs.
What database engine did you use? I like the use of "codes" since
that is probably more accurate than the stuff people enter in the textual
"model" fields during registration.
I used:
I had less difficulty with the NTSB searches because the search field
"model" entries were more accurate at reflecting what the airplane was..
