Walter, Walter, Walter!
Myths die hard! Your letter to P&P
about cool-down of a turbo was so right-on! I often wondered about this thing of
engine and turbo cool-down, having noticed the lowest CHTs immediately upon
landing. However, I'm not a "drag-it-in-at-1500rpm-cross-country-pattern"
kind-of-guy. All my landings are at idle, which cools everything down during the
glide. Unfortuneately there will always be those who perpetuate the many
aviation myths. 'Glad to see that for P&P readers you have hopefully
dispelled the turbo cool-down myth!
