QUESTION to everyone----has anyone experienced any failures with the new Wolstenholm cylinders? The Arotek cylinders? I know
from reading all the posts to this outlet as well as LNN that Arotek is not
held in very high regard and was the reason  for the nose gear failure of the doctors A/C in England. To your question that I anticipate---Yes ,I did
flare ,polish and wash out ALL hydraulic lines prior to installation and the
entire 360 project took 2 and1/2 years to complete. Any comments are welcome

Regarding the serious leaking of your Aerotek main gear cylinder, I
thought I offer my experience, though it won't shed any light on the problem
you experienced. As I reported some months ago, all of my Aerotek hydraulic
cylinders started "weeping" around the cylinder shafts, an expected and
pretty benign failure mode, after they were six to eight years old.
Dissembling the hydraulic system and removing them for rebuild isn't
something you look forward to, but not all that bad. I obtained rebuild kits
from Lancair and the actual cylinder rebuilding wasn't too difficult. No
special tools required, just snap ring pliers. They've all been "dry as a
bone" since. I hope they remain that way for many years! Bill Rumburg
