I do all my landings with the power at idle; ground
idle is 680rpm. This past Sunday I landed at Santa Paula, pattern altitude 845
msl, 600 agl, from a close-in downwind. I chopped power at the approach end of
the runway with the gear down, glided right on around and stalled it on at 63
mph IAS . I find my 235 much, much, more stable on approach and landing
than a 172! It's probably the easiest plane I've flown, which only includes
Cubs, Luscombes, 152s, 172s, 182s, Warriors and Archers. It's just like my
little 300ZX sports car; very maneuverable!
