OK, OK, everyone - seeing as how something in the air (or maybe because a
lot of us are experiencing "cabin fever" from being driven inside by the
winter chill for too long) is making for some long, but interesting,
diatribes that seemingly are submitted for the purpose of "getting it
right", here is my contribution regarding Marv's dictionary definition of
"epistemological".

Marv wrote: "The branch of philosophy that studies the nature of knowledge,
its presuppositions and foundations, and its extent and validity".

I humbly submit that a "branch of philosophy" studies nothing, it is merely
a "branch of philosophy" which is patently incapable of action of any kind.

On the other hand, if one states that it means "The branch of philosophy,
who's practitioners study the nature of knowledge, its presuppositions and
foundations, and its extent and validity", I'll buy it.

Dan Schaefer (who never had an epistemologicocal day in his life).

[Thanks, Dan... good point, I'm sure that the folks at American Heritage
Dictionary stand duly corrected.  Cabin fever is right! <g>
