To help foster effective, quality and civilized discussions, I like to
suggest a short read.  AOPA members among us should have received their June '05 issue of Pilot
Magazine.  On page 42 you'll find an article in Barry Schiff's
"Proficient Pilot" column titled "Obligated To Land," and on page 52, a
corollary article by John Yodice in his "Pilot Council" column titled
"In-flight Mechanical Problems."  If you're not an AOPA member and would like to read these articles, may
I suggest borrowing from a AOPA-member friend.  If you have no
AOPA-member friends and would still like to read the articles, contact
