The epoxy burns very well in a post crash fire event leaving just raw
composite remains.

Anybody looked at slowing down epoxy burn rates?
There was an article in, I think, last month's FLYING about a guy in a
Mooney.
Coming out of the annual the mechanic forgot to tighten up all the pipes on
the wastegate so he basically had hot exhaust on the firewall. The
firewall got hot enough to melt down all the wiring which is about when the
pilot noticed. He got out alive but not by much.
I wonder how that would have gone in an LIVP. I suppose
that blanket transfers heat slower than a sheet metal firewall but the sheet
metal firewall melts at a higher temperature....
