Ric,
There are a couple of "critical" screws and nut plates on the nose gear
door. How about removing them entirely. There are plenty more.

{I know we all disdain appurtenances sticking out into the windstream on
these fast-glass ships of ours, but what about removing the nutplates
from the offending area and bedding in those teeny locknuts on the outside of the gear door, then micro-ing them into a little ridge that
could be nicely streamlined. Then the screws could be inserted from
inside which would completely eliminate the possibility of binding once
and for all. Just a thought..... <Marv> ]
