 Oops, sounds like this is a complex subject. I just wanted a quick fix to my
noisy comm!
 
 Am more interested in discharging static build up (as a potential source of
radio noise during transmit) then dissipating lightning strikes..am a chicken
pilot and let the "burners" do the work on stormy days.

[If your xmit noise is truly a result of static buildup then wicks should help.  It would be nice, though, to know for sure if that's the cause and not some other electrical gremlin before going forward.   My 2c.   <Marv>   ]
